Patients
Burning Man is a uniquely potent, transformative experience. But it also presents many challenges, even for people in perfect health. For people facing cancer, Burning Man can seem an unrealistic or even unattainable goal.
We work closely with patients and their loved ones to understand their individual situation, including hopes, concerns and medical needs. We then craft a personalized experience to make their journey to and from the playa a positive one. For this reason, we can only work with a select few patients each year. Volunteers
Our work would not be possible without our amazing community of volunteers. Whether you are an individual participant or part of a theme camp, vendor or other group, we’d love to hear from you. We are especially interested in anyone with medical, therapeutic or caregiving experience. But we also welcome volunteers with no specialized skills whatsoever.
Volunteering is an incredibly rewarding experience. Past volunteers have described their work with Burning Wish as having been one of the most memorable and meaningful aspects of their burn. Plus, volunteers play a huge role in shaping our program. If you have ideas for activities or experiences you’d like to offer our patients, absolutely let us know.

Gifting is one of community’s most central values, and the 2nd Principle of Burning Man. In keeping with this principle, Burning Wish provides our services at no cost to the recipients or their families.
Donors receive early access to all Burning Wish blog posts and other special content, as well as invitations to our annual on-playa appreciation event.
